FanDuel Sports Networks Could Shut Down Unless Sale To DAZN Closes Next Month

The Rangers may have taken a hit, but it seems they took much less of a hit than the Cards did going with MLB broadcasting.

My concern would be fans having to pay for yet another streaming service.
Right.. I agree. I think it will be great for fans.

I’m just skeptical it’s going to be this major revenue driver. Folks saying this is the next Battery, the window just got extended, etc should keep their hopes and dreams grounded

We already had the worst tv deal in the league since the one we had was signed in 2006 before the regional tv bubble contracts peaked.

So it can't be that much worse than that.

I thought it got reworked a few years back and the revenue we started to get was more middle of the pack. I’m happy to be wrong.

I guess it all depends on how they monetize the content, right? If they make it some streaming-only subscription, they will probably blow it. If they make it only free OTA, they likely leave some money on the table. If they make some cool streaming service, and get it added to cable packages, and other streaming packages, and OTA...it might be pretty big.

I'm going to guess the leadership who pulled off The Battery will also pull this off competently, but only time will tell.

I was watching a video by Lindsay Crosby yesterday. He said when Liberty Media saw the TV contract, it actually lowered the purchase price for them when they made the transaction with Time Warner. So Liberty saw how bad it was.

Really no additional news about it on Wednesday. Which is not a surprise. I imagine it's going to take a couple weeks to get all the details about it. Certainly curious with how it will be distributed and the amount of revenue. But what's going to be on this network? Aside from game coverage, how do you fill the other time? Classic Braves games, all access shows, have to think that will be a part of it. I would also anticipate the Hawks being a part of the channel as well. Will be interesting to see what this becomes.

I'm guessing all the internal structure - cameras, crew, on-air talent, etc, are owned by the Braves and its really about how it gets disseminated?
