Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

Someone please attempt this on MLB The Show....

It's like a glitch on a video game. 'No, you can not get a top prospect for your #11 guy. You have to give up something else to justify that drop.' Ok, I'll add Olivera. 'Ok, done. Here is the top prospect and Alex Wood.' Huh? Accept, accept, accept!

Not going to try to spin anything, but have learned one thing above everything else when it comes to baseball trades...

Take a deep breath and think through all the dominoes that might also fall as a result of the trade before condemning it. Crow became a delicacy because so many people scream their knee-jerk reactions without thinking things through.

Always best to sleep on deals and examine them from all sides.

Still boggles my mind we were the youngest team in the majors in 2013, won the division, and now here we are not even 2 full years later. We're older and suck.

We took advantage of Arizona and somehow turned into them.

The only way the trade would work would be on "Bases Loaded" imo

That was a team made up of flawed players, and the Braves farm system was a shell of what it was under Roy Clark's directorship by that time.

i would have traded Wood for Olivera straight up but hate including Jose.im gonna withhold judgement on the deal until I see what the team does in free agency.I still feel like we will go after Price and another bat.If Olivera gets healthy can be a great number 4 hitter behind Freddie.

Man, I hope this thing doesn't go through. If it doesn't, our FO needs to sit the next few days out. I'd rather keep all our one-year guys and make no deals than make this one.

What's some of the potential dominoes in your opinion? More trades tomorrow...hopefully signing an ace in the offseason, but thats not a guarantee even if you go into the offseason with the plan to spend big

I'm all in for a TOR starter as well, but even if they go in guns ablazing that doesn't mean said player/players will pick ATL

On a solid note, if this goes down and we sign a solid guy like Lucroy (just throwing in a suggestion) the lineup could really improve:

Markakis RF
Lucroy C
Freeman 1B
Olivera 3B (?)
Maybin CF
Peterson 2B
Simba SS
K. Johnson? Whoever LF

I really am more interested to see how everything pans out if this happens. We have the money and prospects to get a solidified hitter and TOR type of guy and without Wood, I think it's looking more like we'd go for that.
