FIFA World Cup 2014

help me pick a EPL team. Leaning towards Spurs, because the logo is cool. What say you?

Also, what's the point in picking a Bundesliga team that isn't Bayern, a Serie A team that isn't from Milan, Rome, or Juventus, or a La Liga team that isn't from Madrid or Barcelona? Also, isn't the season really boring when they just beat the crap out of teams that aren't the aforementioned?

If I was to pick an EPL team I would pick Arsenal or Man U. Maybe Liverpool after they sell Suarez to Barca. Spurs I liked what they were doing and rooted for them when they had Dempsey, Friedel and AVB. Now they have no Yanks I could care less about them and they fired so many coaches in such a short time. Not a good sign for an organization. The EPL team I follow the most is Everton simply because of Howard and their underdog status.

Man city/Chelsea/Man Unitd- all like the Yankees and buy there way to title. Not that I disagree with it, but it's true. Man U probably develops more youngsters out of group.

Arsenal are scum. They care more about making a profit and you would grow to hate their players. Soft.

Everton is a good squad to follow they play more exciting soccer with new coach. Lot of tradition.

Spurs is a great choice.

Others I would consider are Swansea and Crystal palace you want to root for smaller club. I love Palaces fans. Just great fans.

There are lots of good teams in every league. For Bundesliga you could root for Schalke or Dortmund. Serie A you have tons of squads. Especially if Yedlin goes to Roma.

It's hard in soccer cause the same basic teams are in the top. But there's lots of cool players to root for and lots of fun traditions.

Bundesliga is the best league, IMO, but it's Nayeen, Dortmund, Shalke, Leverkusen.

La liga has best top end with Barca, Madrid, Real. Sprinkle In a few solid teams.

I love Dortmund. They build through youth like Arsenal, but they actually win stuff

Wait for a day or two holden. I'm creating a list of all popular or notable epl and bd liga etc teams with zito.

Don't listen to giles. The team he loves gets owned by arsenal every year.

I'm not a soccer honk by any stretch of the imagination, but even I'm stunned by that Germany beatdown over Brazil. That's just about the soccer equivalent to the Seahawks rout over the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Brazil was down some pretty important players but even still it was shocking.

Nice little handshake from Lowe and JK

Definitely not the case. Brazil was extremely undisciplined, the US was not. That said Brazil was certainly more of a threat to score than the US was. US was very impressive defensively. But what today finally proved was what happens when BRazil's CBs can't bail out Julio Cesar. He's not a good keeper and today showcased that. A world class keeper like Neuer saves at least 3 of those goals. I still don't know how the through to Kroos went in, the Klose one was pathetic, and really even the last Schurrle goal was a savable ball if he had gotten his ass off his line.

Well I thought Germany would advance for my own reasons, but not that embarrassingly. Brazil looked like ****. The poor covering, they didn't even really contest shots. And Julio Cesar proved why he's one of the worst goalies in the world cup.

If you really think the Germans were going all out vs. the USA, I have a bridge to sell you. They had no incentive to push.

All out probably not, but they were certainly playing for the win. They were taking chances. You think they were playing all out for their last 2 goals? Which is still 2 more goals than the US conceded.

You're somewhat right.

7-1 is equivalent to 49 to 7 in NFL (assuming the extra point is good on all 7 touchdowns.

I mean it's strange Americans love great defense in NFL but in soccer when the defense has a great game we complain there isn't enough scoring.
