Folty Being Optioned To AAA

At this point do you try him in the pen the rest of the season and then go into ST with an open mind?

Its so fascinating to see this happen after the dominant year he had last year.

Eh, if we were gonna move him, it should have been last winter when his value was peak.

You wouldnt get as much right now given the season he's had.

Nah there’s still teams that would give up plenty for two years of control in hopes to have last year’s Folty. We know that was a fart in the wind, but he still would have teams willing to give a lot.

I don’t buy him as a closer either because his first innings have been amount his worst.

He was hitting 99 mph his last outing. Velocity is not the issue. He isn't gonna pitch in the high 90's much longer. He's gonna have to learn how to pitch, how to throw strikes and get hitters out.

Hitting it and being consistent there are two different things. His fastball isn't as crisp and his slider is all out of whack. For a guy that relies on stuff to be effective that's going to be a problem. He's at the age for a pitcher where that will start to happen. It sucks but that is the reality of the situation. I honestly doubt he the ability to reinvent himself as that's easier said than done. If his stuff is going into freefall they need to move on. Not extending him was the obviously right decision.

#Braves recalled Chad Sobotka to take roster spot of Folty, who was optioned to Triple-A

What type of package would you give for Stro?

I wouldnt give up Anderson, Pache or Waters, but anyone else, i'd be open to.

Has nothing to do with him growing up Rico... good lord
Listen. He's grown but he still has the tendency to let things get to him. It's more apparent at times, but it's not off base to say he's always wearing his emotions on his sleeve.

I've not been a Folty fan much but he was stand up about his failure at this point. I applaud him for that.

Doubt it. We have a decent lead, so I think that allows us time to hope one or 2 of folty, gausman, Wright, Wilson, or even Newcomb step up.

You could lose that lead just as easy by being complacent. We're getting by atm but there gonna have to be a move made or someone's gonna have to step up ASAP!

For a minute I thought you were talking about Stroman in your post in the first paragraph.
