Folty optioned, D. Castro recalled

I like both sides of this move, though I'm concerned what it might mean for Simmons' health.

I don't see this move hindering Foltynewicz's development. He logged 6 weeks in the bigs as an SP and now he and the coaching staff have a more clear idea on what he needs to work on. This could have some very positive service time implications too depending on how long he stays down.

Let the rotation speculation begin. Banuelos? Alex White?

Yet when I mentioned the idea a few days ago, I got lambasted for it.

Oh well.

I hope the OP meant Daniel Castro was recalled. We are due for something good out of Mexico.

So, Sugar Ray is still with the team?

Who is the 5th starter that will work Friday night vs. the Mets?

Sugar Ray gets to be on the big club for two more days and then gets sent down. That's pretty straightforward. Who replaces Folty in the rotation? Hard to tell, is anyone at Gwinnett ready?

saw this on twitter, someone wondering if Folty is being sent down to work as a closer, with the idea that Grilli gets trade by the deadline, interesting thought....
