obviously. But it is being built with the publics money including my cousin who will pay more taxes to help fund the stadium
Since the public is helping out the team has a responsibility to spend more money on players now imo. None of this 89-90 m self imposed cap nonsense.
I understand where you might think that, but it's a rather half-baked ideal. The Braves are footing a significant portion of the initial costs of the stadium, responsible for all overruns (which there will invariably be), and are also, with some support from private investors, behind the $400MM+ 'entertainment village' to be constructed around the stadium. Free public money is almost universally a good thing -- but this is no sweetheart deal like the Marlins conned out of the city of Miami (80% public funds, over half the money the Marlins contributed was borrowed interest free from Miami Dade).
We would all like to see a bump in payroll, and there just might be one between now and the stadium's opening as that seems to be a 'thing', but I personally think the Braves will be doing just fine if they are able to keep the payroll at its current level throughout the building of the stadium and beyond.
