Fredi Gonzalez Rant Thread.

Different personalities. Bj is somewhat of a primadonna. Andruw was raised through our system thr Braves way.

He is hitting with a 70 wRC+ on the season going into today was at an 80 wRC+ leading off. I'd guess he'd not hit much worse hitting 8th. Who knows maybe he'll actually play like he gives a ****.

I think it would take missing the playoffs this year and next to get Fredi fired. I dont know why anyone expects his eventual replacement to be any better. Managers just dont manager how fans think they should, some people think Joe Maddon is a great manager and he picks closers by how much karma he thinks they have built up.

I don't know. I think Fredi had a decent built in excuse this year with the injuries to Medlen, Beachy and Floyd but truth be told the pitching hasn't been a real issue this season. 5th in the league in ERA isn't too shabby. So he really can't use that excuse. And I think we can thank Roger for most of the pitching success.
Do we consider firing Fredi and giving Roger the job? Would be kind of a bummer to lose McDowell.

Probably won't happen though. The Braves are pretty conservative when it comes to firing/hiring. But there's just no excuse for us to have such bad numbers in the one and two holes. I think that's cost us a couple of wins. Can't get guys on base for Freeman and Upton. A lot of that's on Wren for not getting enough decent hitters for Fredi to work with, but then a lot of that is also on Fredi for being so stubborn with BJ in the lead off spot and taking forever to put LaStella in the 2nd spot.

I agree with the excuses if Harang had come in and put up a 6.07 ERA and Santana flamed. The GM address and plugged those holes. The problem is lineup management and end of games issue. He's also allowing clubhouse issues to fester and grow. That is a big departure from what the team is used to under Bobby.

In terms of game decisions you're probably right. This team needs someone to get the players' attention.

I'd like to see Pendleton get a shot next year. A young team needs a more controlling personality. TP was a strong leader as a player.

You guys remember that time Fredi burned a second bullpen arm to come in and face the other team's reliever? Good times.

K, I haven't posted here in a long ass time.. But just wanted to say that Fredi Gonzalez f*ckin sucks.... Probly everything has already been said but just wanted to vent on the mfer.....

I tell ya what. I think I was one of the ones that underestimated the value of Cox's ability to get the most outta players and make them feel comfortable. I always hated him for his in game managing which he sucked at. Gonzalez sucks at both and needs to hit the road like the Brewers did with Ned Yost a few years back. This team has too much talent to be playing like this.

I was at the game and was wondering about this. Was any explanation given as to why we would both wasting another reliever to come in and face another team's closer?

I took it as Fredi didn't trust Avilan to get out Jansen. And the way Jansen was swinging, he might have been right! Our bullpen is in shambles!!!!

Like I said in the GDT, that speaks volumes about their decision to recall Avilan instead of Shreve.

I checked the lineup and noticed that La Stella is being benched again for Gosselin yet BJ stays in the lineup. I swear I want this stupid SOB of a manager gone. I'm sick of this ****.
