LOL @ Man U, and a double LOL @ Tottenham.

In Man U's defense, Leicester was given a free goal while being down 2 after what should have been a foul on the Leicester player and instead was a super weak penalty. If that doesn't happen, who knows what the result will be. United was certainly the better side.

ut yeah, holy crap tottenham, They had only one shot on frame.

So looking at the champions league tables

In group A all 4 teams have 3 points., Group B has Real with 6, Liverpool adn Basel with 3. Group C has Zenit and Monaco at 4 points and Leverkusen at 3. Group D is looking like it may be decided already as Dortmund is sitting on top with 6, Arsenal is second with 3, and the bottom2 each have 1.

Group E is more up in the air in a small way. Bayern looks to be walking away so far with 6 points. Roma is second with 4, City with 1 CSKA has none. GGroup F looks to be Barca and PSG going through,Group G looks like Chelsea to win, then someone to show. Group H pretty much sucks.

Stunning freekick by Wallace to tie it in the 95th minute for Burnley. But how the hell can you tell the difference between Burnley and West Ham?

Arsenal can't get much of anything going against Chelsea. Watching the match though, Sanchez really looks more like a Chelsea player than a traditional Arsenal player. He's fantastic talent but he seems to hold the ball too long and not fit into the one touch passing game Arsenal usually displays.

So Arsenal is sitting on the live table in 7th. Man U after a much heralded struggle to start the season is now sitting in 4th with GD on Swans and Spurs.

The crazy thing about the season so far, Chelsea is clearly in first, with 19 points, There are a total of 12 teams within striking distance of the UCL 4th spot now as that's how many teams have 8-11 points.

US 21 man roster for DOnovan's last game.

GK - Guzan, Rimando, Hamid
DF - Brooks, CHandler, Garza, Gonzalez, Orozco, Ream, Yedlin
MF - Bedoya, Corona, Diskerud, Gil, Green, Morales
FW - Jozy, Landon, Gyau, Ibarra, Wood

If I was taking a stab at the starting lineup

GK - GUza
RB - Yedlin
CB - Brooks
CB - Gonzalez
LB - Chandler
CM - Diskerud
CM - Corona
RM - Green
LM - Bedoya
CF - Donovan
ST - Jozy

Though who knows with Klinsmann, also depends on if Donovan wants to start. He may only want ot come in at the hour mark and end the day on the pitch. This friendly is basically just a thing for him and a shot for some of the young mids and forwards to impress.

And for all my USMNT fans here. This is one to get you excited for tomorrow. Even if it's only for 30 minutes. Should be a hell of a sendoff by the US for Donovan.

I have a hunch the players out there will try to get him one more.

I got 9/11 right as far as personnel.

GK - Guzan
RB - Chandler
CB - Brooks
CB - Orozco
LB - Garza
RM - YEdlin (I think Spurs may try to Bale him, can't say I disagree with that)
CM - Mix
CM - Bedoya
LM - Gyau
ST - DOnovan
ST - Jozy

Shocked Green isn't playing over Gyau, though I think Green will spell Donovan at 30 so he'll basically have started this match without the cap.

First half thoughts,

Mix was the best player in the US side.
Guzan was spectacular aside from that horrible time he was caught in possession.
Donovan did well shame he didn't put one of his chances away.
Jozy was very good he was an important part of the goal, he got 2 great balls into Landon that he could have scored from.
Bedoya was pretty much non-existent
Yedlin was hot and cold, looked really creative, and played solid D some times, then let up some weak moves some other times.
Chandler looked good in transition but made some bad mental mistakes on defense.
Bobby Wood replaced Gyau, he didn't do much until he put the last chance in the box but that was fantastic.

Overall the defense was a concern. but in the attack the US was fantastic. They coudl have scored 4 goals.

US added a few players and sent a few players back to their clubs

Roster for Tuesday's friends

GK - Rimando, Hamid, Johnson
DF - Besler, Chandler, Garza, Orozco, Ream, Yedlin (thought he would have been going back)
MF - Bedoya, Bradley, Corona, Diskerud, Jones, Morales, Zusi
FW - Jozy, Dempsey, Ibarra, Wondo, Wood

Taking a stab at the lineup, I assume a 4-3-3

GK - Rimando
RB - Chandler
CB - Besler
CB - Orozco
Garza
CM - Jones
RM - Bradley
LM - Diskerud (pretty central formation from them, lots of trading off)
RW - Yedlin
ST - Jozy
LW - Dempsey

Klinsmann throws another curve

GK - Rimando
RB - Chandler
CB - Jermaine Jones
CB - Besler
LB - Garza
CDM - Diskerud
RM - Zusi
LM - Bedoya
CM - Bradley
ST - Dempsey
ST - Jozy

After another annoying draw, some thoughts. \

US looked really bad in the second half. The first half they were getting it forward and generating chances. Second half those chances were much fewer. Defensively they left a lot to be desired, Jones put in 90 minutes of hard work, but he made a lot of mistakes and that's part of the learning process. Ream is not close to the starting CBs in terms of talent. He looks like he could be better than say Clarence Goodson.

Positives to take away. First I really like Jurgen's coaching strategies. With it looking more and more like Bradley and Diskerud will be the CM pairing in Russia, forcing Bradley to play forward and Diskerud to play back is strengthening both of them helping them learn to play together so come Russia it's not a diamond where Bradley, our best distributor, is barely infront of the back 4. I think the key is how Klinsmann view's Bradley's talent, he sees him as more Paul Scholes, less Pirlo. Other positives, Jozy was great, but the US needs to get him the ball more. He had 2 touches in the 18, one pass that wasn't quite on the money, and his goal. That cannot happen. Diskerud was excellent. He was making a statement game. He needs to get stronger so he can go hard 90 minutes, not 60. Bedoya is the best effort guy the US has. Greg Garza is an interesting mix. He faded in the second half. He looked a total natural ranging forward. He was strong in defense. He got caught forward a bit too often. But he should learn that.

It's early in the cycle, but lookinga t the US depth right now

GK - Howard if he wants to play, awesome. Guzan is more than capable replacement, he's not Howard awesome but he would start on many national teams. Rimando is an MLS fixture, he doesn't have the ability to play on the big stages though, He'll be important for depth, but he's got no future in the US, his heart is big but he's way too small to play against top sides. We thankfully have some young interesting prospects as well, Cody Cropper being my favorite, but Johnson and Hamid are powerful.

Fullback - Lots of depth here, Chandler, Johnson, Garza, Yedlin, and older guys like Beasley and Evans. High levels of competition will be good. Don't see much in the very young kids right now, but the current crop is young enough for at least 2 WC runs so someone whould be along by then.

Centerbacks - Solid depth, need more top end talent. Besler, Gonzalez, Brooks, Cameron, Ream, Orozco, Jones. Lots of questions here, especially if Besler, Gonzalez or Brooks lose an edge or get hurt.

Central mids - Lots of depth here with some talent and a lot of questions. Bradley, Diskerud, Morales, Corona, Hyndman, Edu, WIlliams, Gil, Packwood. I'm gonna stop there but Zusi and Bedoya are mids as well often. Lots of young talent here and veteran ability, but lots of issues as well. Bradley and Diskerud look excellent, Morales and Corona have ability and are young, Hyndman, Gil and Packwood are all very young and could potentially have other positions. The potential of those 3 are excellent and they could push Bradley and Diskerud or force Klinsmann to hav ea different positioning.

Wide mids - This is where things are pretty thing, great top end prospects, but lots of issues. Green, Gyau, Bedoya, Zusi, Shea. Green, Gyau and Shea have insane talent, but there could be issues there as only Green is a true top talent, Gyau is raw, shea is raw, issue is with Shea is he's older and raw.

Forwards - Lots of talent and depth here, Jozy, Johannson, Adudelo, Boyd, Wood, Rubin. Everyone in this group is under 25. The issue here is finding the right combination andmaking it work. Jozy is a target man, Boyd is a target man, Johannson is a linkup pairing type. Not 100% sure about Wood and Rubin as I haven't been following them closely yet.
