I find Greenberg's total obliviousness to the law fascinating. And I like to see rich, entitled pricks who break the law and attack others get some comeuppance. Matt Gaetz falls well within this category.

I also like reminding myself of just how corrupt and stupid the last administration and those it attracted were. Joel Greenberg's story is special, even in the Stone/Manafort swamp.

But this is a great lesson to understand. Which type of politicians are being attacked and why.

They are threats to the establishment order.

I've said this before and I will say it again. This here is the biggest problem with the DOJ. They deliberately leak their "investigations" to make the republicans look bad in order to affect public opinion. This is banana republic level of corruption. As you said step 4 comes into play soon after and there are no apologies. Nothing.
 
I guess y'all taking your cues from the DoJ now. But our public officials should be held to a higher standard than reasonable doubt. Andrew Cuomo engaged in plenty of deplorable conduct. And the absence of an indictment or conviction doesn't change that.
