GDT: (08/14/14) Dodgers (Hernandez) @ Braves (Harang) Early Game!

And that right there is the problem with this fckn joke of a baseball team, they can't ever get **** going!! On the rare chances they do, they fckn choke

It doesn't really matter who starts for the Braves. This offense constructed by Frank Wren will consistently fail.

Can Fredi really survive another crash ending of a season? I really don't think so, or is that just hope. This team has all but quit, and that's on management.

I don't know if firing him is necessarily the answer; I just know something is not working. Even if firing him were the answer, I don't think this organization has the balls to do it to a guy that was practically handpicked by Bobby Cox and had the job almost from day 1.

I think it starts at the top. I have said it countless times that Frank Wren is the problem. When you put together a lineup that has a ton of low contact hitters who strikeout a lot you are in trouble. The home runs are nice, but you can't count on that as your source of scoring runs. Now I am not saying Wren needs to be fired or whatever, but a change in philosophy needs to happen.

Sure the team has had regular season success the last few seasons, but this group reached it's ceiling last year. Getting bent over in the NLDS.

From Bill Chuck at http://Gammonsdaily.com : Of the 9 MLB teams with the most strikeouts, only the #Braves (61-59) have a winning record

Yeah, I think strikeouts do matter.

Overall record also takes runs given up into account so saying strikeouts matter and using wins/loss as your proof is not very intelligent.

Lets do OBP for fun:

Yep, I think it's time to reevaluate, but there are also only so many positions to change. Freeman and Simmons are locked up. It'll be hard to move BJ, but they may just decide to Uggla him to the bench. Gattis could be traded, but that just would give us Bethancourt full time. CJ could be moved, but we'd need to find a 3B unless Peraza is gonna play there. Outfield seems pretty set.

As long as we have a mediocre manager we will have a mediocre team. I would be willing to bet anyone on here could coach this team to this record. A good manager would have us winning those tight extra inning games. Plus he would not screw up the lineup like Fredi has all year.

Is there a bigger rally killer in the history of baseball than Chris Johnson?

Two walks----first pitch to him a ball. Seems like a good spot to maybe take a pitch? Nope.....Guess that's why he's walked 3% of PA this year.

Bobby was once fired by the Braves. I can hear Wren now "who do we want to hire? It would be Fredi Gonzalez if I hadn't just fired him. We need a guy like that around here."

Gattis is pretty good at killing rallies when he's in his Vlad Guerrero mode of swinging at everything. Only, he doesn't get Vlad results.

Is that why he is one of the best on the team with RISP?
