GDT 10/16/21: Braves vs Dodgers - NLCS Game 1

I guess he's been OK for them since coming over, but it's still a little weird that the Dodgers are actually starting Pujols at first base in a playoff game.

We are seeing a benefit to the opener. No pitcher PA early in the game when it’s still guaranteed to be a close game.

Notice how Roberts didn’t punt a PA to extend Knebel through pederson?

Imagine having a competent tactician at the helm…

Is it beneficial to us to see their whole pen in game 1?

Why not? Day off after game 2.

I think I’d let Bickford face Swanson, then bring in a LHP for Fried, Rosario and Freeman. That allows them to bring in a RHP in case Albies bats, rather than allowing him to face the LHP.

We probably didn't have much of a choice in signing d'Arnaud to an extension, but he's been pretty bad this year, and I think there's a real chance we're going to be dealing with that for the next two years.
