Thumb and wrist injuries are notorious for taking a while to come back from. They should probably limit him a bit early in 2022.
 
Man, that was a terrible 0-2 slider to Turner. Breaking stuff isn’t sharp. Maybe from the longer-than-normal layoff
 
Oh looks like they will go right to Gonsolin now. I think I’d have used a LHP and a PH, then went to Gonsolin.

Maybe double switch out Pujols if needed?
 
I’m a bit late posting this Duvall’s ineptitude has been tough. That was a meatball of a slider down the middle on 0-1 that he popped out.

Not saying they're wrong for it. Just wondering if it's beneficial to us to see most their pen in game 1 since we don't really face the dodgers much
 
Ok, so they did let bickford face Swanson, and brought Bruhl in for Fried.

Exactly as I expected a competent manager to navigate this lineup.

They actually when to Bruhl here so he will not have to face Albies under any circumstance. Exactly correct strategy.

I really hope Snit is paying attention. Roberts is managing this perfectly and is putting on a tactical clinic.

Let’s Robert’s bring in a RH for Ozzie if the Braves mount a rally. I think your average manager would try to ride Bickford which puts you in trouble because you lose the platoon matchup against Freddie or Ozzie.

Exactly. I called this move an inning ago, and mentioned it the moment the lineup was posted.

The Braves need this type of management.
 
Brian Anderson is the best play by play broadcaster in baseball. I’m so happy we get him vs another year of Joe Buck narrating our misery.

The other night Roberts said he was outvoted on the game 5 starter vs SF. I wonder if he makes all decisions solely in-game
 
The plan now should be Bruhl vs Freeman, then Gonsolin for bulk.

The interesting decision will come if Bruhl’s spot comes to bat. At that point they have to PH and let Gonsolin face Freeman.

Another interesting choice is whether or not to double switch out Pujols when Gonsolin comes in. I bet they do it.

He almost certainly doesn’t. There’s no reason not to have the 10-15 most likely scenarios completely scripted with the help of the analysts before each game.

It’s pretty clear the Dodgers put that work into every single game.

He doesn’t and I think that’s why he’s a great manager. No ego, just manages personalities and executes the work of the smart data analysts in the front office.

Snit’s best quality is that he is a loyal soldier, but I don’t think he would be the type to respond to that type of decision making framework.
