Acuna hasn't gone 3 straight games without a hit all season. I think he balls out in Game 3. And just FYI, he is .333 lifetime vs Nola with a 1.067 OPS.

Riley also hits .412 vs Nola.
 
I think we should go with the bullpen game for game 3. Bryce Elder don’t pitch in the last 10 days minimum. Nola last time he pitch this past Wednesday. So basically Nola will be seat for the last 7 days.
 
We still only got 4 hits, albeit they were late. Let’s not start sucking each other off yet. Let’s hope Game 3 they have some competitive AB’s and actually take some walks. The offense hit a lot of homers all year but they did a lot of good stuff besides homers. If Ronald doesn’t get it going then we’re probably not going to win the series. Let’s hope he really wakes up.

the two homers were on breaking pitches which we feast on. We’re still struggling with fastballs which Philly’s staff has no shortage of.
 
Wow, what an ending! That certainly has the potential to shift the momentum of the series in our favor.

I watched the archived game on MLB.TV, so I knew they'd win going into the 9th, because the tape was running out of time. Still, one of the most exciting endings to a playoff game in a long time. This is also where the series deviates from last year, because that game 2 win wasn't exactly uplifting. Let's hope it gives the team the spur it needs, because the Phillies again looked like the better team with the better gameplan. The Braves' inability to catch up to fastballs is concerning. The hitters don't seem to have a clue what's coming, or how to adjust. Turning 4 hits and a walk into 5 runs is certainly efficient, but I wouldn't try repeating that.

All in all, the Phillies still look like the favorites, not only because of HFA. This was a "heart" win for the Braves. Now they need a "talent" win in Philly.
 
If we can somehow find a way to get it back to Atlanta, I have confidence that Fried will come through in Game 5. Whether we hit the ball is an entirely different question.

I'm not sure how the team that tied for the most homers in a season ever hitting two home runs to pull ahead is miraculous. The only thing miraculous about it is that it happened with this ridiculous playoff structure.

I know I sound like a homer, but it wasn't because Wheeler was magnificent. He was fine, but fairly erratic place and hanging fastballs consistently - the team just looked like ****. Totally dead. They BADLY needed to score one run and get the monkey off their back... they did and it was game over. I don't typically buy into momentum, but Atlanta found it and road it to a win. I'd be shocked if they suddenly can't hit again.

I really think the 14-inning drought says way more about the Braves' mental struggles to start the series than the Phillies doing a ton right, but it doesn't matter. This is exactly what the Phillies should be telling themselves.
