I went over this in another thread. Adding justices would lead to Republicans adding more as soon as they get control. If the Dems go to 13, Republicans go to 19. Then Dems go to 25. And so on.

Expanding the court also makes its job harder. Justices circulate opinions, read them, and rewrite theirs. So if you increase the justices you increase the workload.

Then there's the problem with fractured decisions. The more justices the more you'll have decisions where one part in a concurrence is controlling on one issue while another controls on something else or even have situations where you have 3 or 4 different factions within the court with no majority on an issue.

I could go on. Ultimately you want a court large enough where no one judge has too much power but small enough to still function.

Seems they'd wait to see if they can produce numbers that would affect election there. The timing just seems to be throwing the president a bone imo

Its not McConnel who would push for it. It would be Trump and I am 100% certain he didnt know it was an option until the media mentioned it after RBG died. Trump repotedly tried to see if he could get himself added to Mount Rushmore. There are no limits for him. I fully expect him to do it if he has a second term and a Republican Congress and he will shout it from the rooftops about how proud he is about doing it.

Biden didnt want to tell the left that he wasnt going to do it. Mark my words, it wont happen. Biden is a spineless twit. Biden wants to unite with Republicans not divide. I think thats stupid but its who he is and what he does.

And Trump would be wrong to try. The fact he might try doesn't make it right for the Dems to. Two wrongs making a right is a fallacy.
