GDT #17, 4/19/14: Braves (Santana) @ Mets (Colon) 7:10 PM

I know Ervin can't continue to be this good realistically what would you take from Santana and be happy about his season? Can we get 15 wins low 3 era from him aka Medlen

Anything less than 25 wins is a bad season. Also his era should be double digits...including the decimal.

His FIP should be negative. FTW!

I'll answer in terms of a statistic that isn't universally popular. I'll be happy if Santana produces a 3 WAR or better season. He was 3 WAR last year which was a good year and has looked very sharp so far this year. There is a chance he can do better. But to me the key is him doing well enough to allow us to make a qualifying offer at the end of the season. 3 WAR is what I regard as a breakeven for making the qualifying offer.

A tweet from Washington game this afternoon said Harper was pulled from game for failing to hustle to first. Last night, he came out of game after stumbling on catch near foul territory. Can't decide who has the dimmest future, he or Matt Williams. Saw where WIlliams had his pitchers taking fielding practrice before today's game; that stuff should be automatic by the end of spring. What did they spend March doing -- reading their press clippings (again)?
