GDT #32: Cardinals @ Braves (May 6, 2014)

The GM can tell the manager to give so and so more playing time to see if there's any value left in order for the GM to make a move.

Safe to say that's NOT happening with Uggla, as he has negative value to any team. He has negative value to a minor league team.

You're kind of agreeing, but saying he's only been bad for 6 months is just not accurate. He's been a bad player for years now, and terrible for a good amount of that time.

So, he was bad in 2011? 2012? No. He wasn't great, but a .750 OPS and 20+ homers from your 2nd baseman is nothing to be ashamed of.

Of course it is for us... but for Wren there's about 24 million reasons to at least see and hold on until the very end.

6 months?
Even if he was putting up a .750 OPS, with his terrible defense and complete lack of fundamentals, he'd be a terrible player.

I have been saying this for years. Don't know if you are convert to that way of thinking, but Uggla is terrible.
