GDT 4/21/24 Braves @ Nationals - Acuna Back In Lineup

I think the following set of moves makes the most sense.

First DFA Payamps and Hamilton

They won’t be available tomorrow and if teams weren’t willing to take on Perez’s salary I doubt they’d take on theirs. Also if they elect FA they don’t get to keep their money since the have less than 5 years service time so they probably will stay.

Next Recall Fuentes and Stratton

Gets some fresh Optionable arms in the pen for tomorrow

After tomorrow’s game Option 1 of Dodd/Fuentes/Stratton (depending on tomorrow’s pitching usage) to AAA

Order to send down goes Unavailable/Stratton/Dodd/Fuentes

Select Ritchie to start Thursday

Lines up our top 3 for the Phillies series

Option Ritchie

Select Karinchak

Series of moves ends up being 40 man neutral

If Spencer can consistently be 96-98 (so around a 96.5-97 average) with a 18-21" IVB, then he's going to absolutely cook. I'm guessing the IVB numbers will be around that, but I'm guessing his velocity sits closer to 96 average.

I'm guessing they want to keep Ritchie down as long as possible while he's not on the 40 man.
Pretty smart honestly. We aren't exactly hard up for SP at the moment. Strider will likely get 1 more AAA start and then get activated on 4/30 or 5/1.

PAMPERS HAS TO GO TOO!!!

wonder if that pushes perez to tomorrow

might be how far DF can go tonight... if he an give them length then i bet perez goes tomorrow..but if not perez follows DF tonight

Why? I think it’d be useful for him to go ahead and get a spot start and tomorrow would be an excellent opportunity. With Hamilton being DFA for Fuentes to come up the 40 man is at 38 so there’s room. Provides our top 5 starters with extra rest and puts our top 3 up against the Phillies

Edit: Didn’t see Fuentes was starting tonight. Thats a way to go too but it doesn’t do much for the bullpen tonight. I could still see Ritchie starting tomorrow if Perez is pressed in to duty tonight.

Would you guys rather see Holmes or Lopez stay in the rotation.
Wow that’s tough. Honestly I feel like there both fairly likely to break down at any time and should be managed as such. I guess if I was pressed I’d say bump Holmes keep Lopez. We know Holmes has an arm issue. Lopez we have to assume is healthy. Also i think if you took Holmes out of the rotation you could work him back in if necessary. With Lopez I don’t feel like you can unring that bell.
