Kyle Wright....your MLB fWAR leader
I keep thinking there is some smoke and mirrors with this Wright start. But a lot of the advance stats are supporting this. When are we allowed to be excited.
Wright would have been here sooner if the organization allowed him more time to sink and swim in prior seasons.
A lesson to be learned for future arms.
We sank or swim with Newcomb. That didn’t really work out.We won a title and now control an impact pitcher for 4 more years. I would say we did a good job with him.

Pitcher psychology is a science no one gets right. Be thankful for any good outcome.
The thing with Newk is because he was a power lefty he got a lot of early looks and was given more chances tk figure it out on the fly than sent down and work on it.
I think he may still end up being serviceable to someone.
I also think because he was traded for Simmons he got more chanced to prove the trade wasn't a bust.
The problem with Newk is that he started to see some success as a BP arm, then inexplicably was shoehorned back into the SP role.
I think the Braves mishandled Newk a bit.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Astros get their hands on him at some point.

The sooner the Braves understand pitchers don't have to be 1 a inning BP guy or a 6 inning SP, the sooner they can start getting more out of the talented arms they acquire.
What players say they want should not be a factor. Their job is to fullfill the role they are assigned, and the organization's job is to demonstrate to players that those roles are valuable.
