And you're the one always trying to claim things aren't happening as some really odd defense mechanism.

I say "they will remember they don't have to throw him strikes".

Someone replies "you think teams forgot?".

That's a gotcha attempt. That's someone trying to point out something incorrectly stated by someone else, usually backed up by some other point/fact/data. It' not some malicious thing. It's just a banter thing. Trying to gotcha someone on a statement that was very clearly a turn of phrase is silly.

A "turn of phrase" is something said for effect, not meant to be taken literally. For example, I know MLB teams didn't actually forget Harris has poor plate discipline. I said that as a way to suggest they have been making mistakes in the zone more often than they want, or something else causing his chase rate to not hurt him right now.

Do we all understand the gotcha concept? Do you understand a how some statements aren't literal? Does anything else need to be explained?

I have no idea what the insult is supposed to be in “sssthuper”. So we’ll call it another failed “gotcha”
