GDT: 4/24 Time to Smyly (PPD) Double Header 4/25

I refuse to acknowledge a 7 inning no hitter. That’s like the 94 division race; never finished, never gonna know what would have happened.

If you get no hit by 2021 bumgarner for 5 innings it should go down in history. A 7-inning no hitter, then you're a joke

Just about 13% of the season done...

Our cf prospect has failed miserably so far
FF is hitting .208
Ozuna, swanson, and TDA under .600 ops
Albies at .630 ops hitting .164
Smyly over 7 era
Fried on IL after horrible start
Will smith still shaky
Chris Martin on IL
Soroka no return in sight

This has been an absolute disaster

Add to that, 2 bench pieces(Jackson and Camargo) have a combined OPS of less than .200

The braves got no hit by bumgarner.

The braves got 1 hit today.

This isn't being unlucky. This is being a trash offense

What an awful start to the season. But perhaps this is what happens when you...

--Let three of your most reliable relievers walk without adding anyone to replace them on what was clearly your biggest strength last year
--Whif on the one free agent reliever we decided to invest serious money into, who has turned out to be a total bust thus far. Let's just remember we are paying Will Smith 3 years and 40mm to be a league average reliver
--Sign an unproven journeyman starter to one of the highest contracts in free agency without seeing how the market shapes out. Go figure he's been mediocre and injury prone - as he had for the first literally DECADE of his career
--Let your best bench / 9th starter walk, don't replace him and rely on an awful bench now in a league with no DH
--Bet on a rookie that was unanimously expected to struggle offensively. Is it really surprising that Pache has struggled?
--Not add a single bat when its very clear that you've got two massive line-up gaps plus the pitcher. At least have flexibility to have even one decent platoon bat off the bench. Having a Matt Joyce level where on some days we could put Acuna in Center seems like a necessity when you have a rookie center fielder that can't hit
--and yes some bad luck on injuries with Fried, Soroka, etc.

That was embarrassing. Today was a day that not even the most positive Braves fan can take any good out of. Two games, 14 innings, one hit. This team is better than this and should be flat out embarrassed. Just a flat out terrible showing. No excuses

Snits still making excuses for every one and thing. Answer to 1st question, "just one of those days". More crappy attitude, low energy, and excuses.

And this is completely on AA

As pissed as I've been about this start, I do think this Cubs series sets up as a chance to get the bats going...

This will be our 2nd look at Davies, williams, and Hendricks. I think this is the series that ozuna awakens

at the end of the day we’re still only a little over 3 weeks into the season. i’m confident this team is better than it’s been so far, so i’ll wait a good bit until i’m genuinely concerned.

obviously a day like today sucks tho.

I think a big question for me and probably everyone else is exactly what buttons can be pushed to make the team better. It’s looking like we’re gonna have to add a bat and rebuild the pen as the season goes in a best case scenario. We need Ozuna TDA and Albies to really start coming around though before we have an idea of exactly what we need to do. Ozuna especially since his defense is so poor.
