GDT 4/5 - Colon @ deGrom

I'm sure you'll have some sort of contrived argument as to why Kemp isn't good.

Thats ok - Its not a consensus thing and it shouldn't be.

He hasn't been good since 2012 which is the last time he put up a 900 OPS. If he does that like you mentioned a few posts ago then I suspect he will be good this year as well.

Good win, nice catch by Jace or that inning might have got interesting after the Bruce hit. Now let's win this series tomorrow. Old man Colon did the job tonight and good bounce back by the bullpen, esp. those who went multiple innings.

Injuries and a lack of motivation will do that to you.

But in reality - This conversation is silly since its only been one bad game and one good game. Just wanted to do this because for some reason the stat people were claiming Kemp as a failure after one bad game two days ago.

Long season ahead.

Getting older and leaving your prime will as well. I still peg Kemp as a 1-1.5 WAR player this year which means he will either be slightly underpaid or worth what we are paying him when factoring in HO's dead money. I just don't see a career resurgence from him at this point in his career. Maybe he will prove me wrong.
