GDT 4/7/27 @PIT Folty vs. Nova

While it looks terrible now we've been playing in some horrible weather so far.

Want to see how the boys settle in when the weather gets warmer.

The Braves are definitely the only team playing in poor weather. The Mets and Pirates somehow changed the weather conditions when they are batting and in the field, without allowing the Braves to benefit from those improved weather conditions.

Well somewhat in the braves' defense, they ended a really cold game around 10pm. They then had to fly Pittsburgh, get up early, and then play in snow today.

Agreed with this - the MLB is scheduling is so stupid.

Why not have the Braves/Mets play Mon/Tue/Wed? That way you have the day off Thursday for ANY weather postponement (not just covering opening day), and you get the teams a decent travel day.

No but I tend to give Northern home teams an advantage since they've likely been playing in these conditions for years.

great point

I really don't understand why MLB is so insistent on opening up the season with so many games in Northern cities; why are we opening day in NY, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Chicago, Cleveland.

Open up in Texas, San Diego, Miami, Houston, Toronto (dome), Arizona, LA, SF, Tampa, Atlanta..... each of these teams could get a couple home series to start the year.

Further, why make them play in NY or Pitt at all the first week? Isn't the weather much better in Atlanta this time of year?

Braves benefitting from bat defense. We'll take it though.

Got a chance here... but of course it's Brandon Phillips
