GDT: 4/8/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Shelby) @ Miami Marlins (Koehler), Fredi showing off.

I'd prefer Kelly to Gomes against the righty.

I like Maybin more than EY. I like Callaspo more than CJ. I like AJ more than Bethancourt.

I'd prefer Maybin batting 1st/2nd

It's good to cycle guys in (especially when there's not that much difference between the starter and reserve), but I've always wondered why that the shuffling isn't spread over a few games as opposed to being concentrated in one.

I never really understood it either. But I also don't get how Simmons was the worst hitter in our lineup the last two days (batted 8th) and now we put in some bench players for starters and Simmons bats in the most important spot in the order.

Not so much weird as opposed to he's just pretty old school in his line of thinking.

I mean Bobby used to put his shortstop and 2B at the top of the lineup frequently, no matter who it was.

But I don't remember Bobby having only two spots for those guys. #2 or #8. It's weird.

Need more Hermione dancing :cooter:

Honestly, as long as Fredi has Jace, Markakis and Freeman in the top 3 or 4 in the lineup I really couldn't care less where the other players bat, or who starts for that matter.

I spent years watching Gene Mauch manage. Whatever Fredi does is minor compared to all the permutations of the same guys Mauch used to employ.

Ding, ding, ding. When you only have 2 legit MLB hitters on the roster and one other young guy that might be able to post a .350 OBP, there isn't much else you can really do with a lineup card and a pen to increase your chances of winning.

Not like Fredi can fill out a lineup with a roster full of competent hitters anyways, but that's not the point right now...
