GDT: 4/8/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Shelby) @ Miami Marlins (Koehler), Fredi showing off.

The team has some good pieces. When you add to that some of the pieces we let go......

Didn't we get swept by the Mets to start the year in 2013?

I watched a lot of Pierzynski when he was in Minnesota and the guy is a total pr*ck, but he's not a bad ballplayer. He'll instigate a couple of bench-clearing brawls before the season is half over and he'll get into it with the press on just about a weekly basis. But he's an unorthodox player who somehow gets it done. He has a lot of stickers on his suitcase, but if he couldn't play some, he wouldn't be around because he is a total pr*ck.

This team will be more fun to watch than the crap they rolled out there last year. At least after one series, this team seems to have heart

Its not even a question. Braves will lose more than they win but I can like the way they are playing the game.

The team is going to get positional upgrades in the next year or two from the farm. Baseball hasn't changed much. Its about pitching and timely hitting. Braves have the pitching and are starting to build a culture of contact hitters who fight through AB's. Thats the way to win IMO. We are going to see if works.

I don't think this is the endgame at all. They're going to try to find guys who will have quality ABs, but they want great pitching with great hitting, as every team does. No one is planning on our 2017 team to have a bunch of guys whose best quality is not striking out.

If that player becomes available they will. If not they are going to continue to build with a particular type of player. That was a common theme in the player acquisitions this year.

The pendulum tends to move from one extreme to another and this is the equal and opposite force to the crap type of hitters we had the last couple of seasons.

Hope we can get some good prospects for Freeman and CJ without having to pay any of CJ's contract.

He could alway hit. I think he still can. He can pound some Mich Ultras tonight, in any case.

If that's true, it's stupid.
