GDT: 4/8/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Shelby) @ Miami Marlins (Koehler), Fredi showing off.

Problem with Gattis is he's a DH. I didn't have a problem with him, but he's a man without a position in the NL. I was fine with JUp. Didn't love him as much as many (and I'm sure that keeps him awake at nights), but he's good.

That was where i am with Gattis.

They had to sell him now.

JUp has some concerns, defense, slumps, among other things but i liked him. Power doesnt go away.

Dont see us signing him next winter but they have the money.

Where are all the people who told us the Braves would be dog**** and and the current organization had no clue what they are doing?

If this team wins the w/card you guys know Fredi will get a life time contract, right?

This has been a great start to the year. Who knows what is going to happen this year but sometimes a team gels and surprises everyone. It would be amazing if this team could just be a .500 team. That's my goal for them this year. Win 81 games. I think that's doable.

JUp will not be signed because the he was part of the joke roster last year and the Braves don't like hitters who might strike out

Two reasons why he won't sign with us.

He can't wear #10 (notice how quickly he went back to that #)

He only agrees to play for a team if they agree to carry the dead weight known as his brother.

I'm not a "rain on the parade guy," but this sweep reminds me of a quote Bobby made after we got swept by the Expos in Puerto Rico to start a season way back when. When asked by the press how he felt, Bobby laughed and said "I think they are still going to let us play all 162 games." Of course, the Braves righted the ship and won the division. It's the converse this year in that we have to play all 162 instead of having the season end tomorrow and we happy few celebrating our wire-to-wire division championship. I predicted 71-91 and I still think that's about where we'll end up. Even if that's the case, I think it's going to be a fun season.

We're in the light now; but the night is dark and full of terrors.

“Oh, baseball, my sweet summer game," Old Hart said quietly, "what do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter, not the summer, when the snows fall a hundred feet
deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long
night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little baseball players
are born and live and die all in darkness while the farm system grows gaunt, and the white walkers move through the outfield.”

Don't tell me we didn't pay the iron price this offseason.

Something something David Price. **** it. The Braves are 3-0, Alberto Callaspo is hitting .571, and I'm ****faced.

Mountain Standard / Pacific Daylight is weird: I forget a lot of you all are eleven-post-meridian deep.

It is fun to see great infield defense for a change so far, thankfully CJ has only played one game. But watching Peterson and Simmons up the middle is fun. Further, I don't see how anyone could not like Peterson, always hustles, does the little things well, and IMO looks elite defensively at second. Plus he's looked very good at third in the past too.
