GDT #46: 5/22/14 Brewers (Garza) @ Braves (Harang), 7:10

I'm pretty sure having someone tell him when to challenge helps on those percentages. Your average Laird could do that.
Then again it's Fredi's job to create that system and see that it works. Fer Crissakes, give the man some credit when he clearly deserves it.

Nice win.

Heyward continues to hit well. 300 with a 365 OBP over his last 28 games. Still one has to wonder when the extra bases are going to come. ISO is under .100 on the year now.

Pretty crazy to think that Jason could have a average over .250 tomorrow if he just gets two more hits. Baseball is crazy. I can't complain about his power since his OBP is upwards of .330 now at least haha

I wonder how this board would react if it had been Fredi who called for a relief pitcher who hadn't warmed up.

I know it's been this way all season but does anyone else worry that kimbrel might be a little TOO obvious with what he has on his hat?

Looks like rosin, thats not illegal unless baseball has new rules.

Keep in mind who was playing third, Reynolds is a terrible third baseman. Actually he's a DH/1B that is sometimes used at third. It reminded me of Laird's double off the glove of Michael Young early last season, though that one was originally rule an error and later changed to a double. Young was a no glove third baseman too, at least the latter stage of his career.

That said, I'll take a fluky hit or whatever else works. Good hustle by Laird to make second on the play too. He runs okay for a fat man, lol.

I had the same thought, but I didn't want to even mention Reynolds, who I think is one of the most overrated bad players in baseball. He was total stathead jeans cream early in his career, but he's devolved into a decent spare part who should never play 3B.

Glad to see we are winning some games. Baseball is such a funny game. You can look awful for 3 weeks and then in the next 3 weeks you can look great. So hard to remind myself not to get too high or too low over the course of the season. I still worry that good pitching is going to shut us down in the playoffs but I guess its better to get in and have a chance then not get in at all. GO BRAVES!

They aren't capable. They choose to blindly hate Fredi like people choose to blindly hate Bush, Clinton, or Obama no matter what they do. :snort:

Just saw this on twitter, touch up on it.

David O'Brien @ajcbraves

Folks, every manager sees it, and they don't complain because it's not pine tar. It's combination of dirt, rosin where he touches same spot.
