The MIF market is trash right now. All the good ones are either on good teams or they are very young with enough control that they realistically aren't available. It was in jest, but I'm not sure nacho is any worse. Best MIF available is priority #1 at the deadline
SS help seems obvious but there really isn't anyone that stands out right now.The MIF market is trash right now. All the good ones are either on good teams or they are very young with enough control that they realistically aren't available.
Even someone like Brandon Lowe is hitting worse than Ozzie. And Bo Bichette has been outright awful defensively this year while being very mediocre offensively.
Any blocked SS out there? We need a guy for several seasonsSS help seems obvious but there really isn't anyone that stands out right now.
I think LF is the most intriguing. Verdugo and White aren't good enough to last out there. Profar will come back a month before the trade deadline but isn't going to be available for the playoffs so realistically it's like he won't be back at all for this team. I think the easiest upgrade to the lineup will be there.
I know this is gonna sound crazy but the Orioles aren't very good and are a bottom 4 team in baseball right now. I love Baldwin but is he ever really gonna get the playing time here with Murphy? 2 days a week and a pinch hit opportunity isn't enough for a guy with his upside and they won't DH him bc then you've burned your backup catcher. If Gunnar Henderson were available would Baldwin plus a few pitchers be possible? Henderson is controlled for 3 more years at a position that is a black hole in this organization.Any blocked SS out there? We need a guy for several seasons

neither team is trading those guys, but Baldwin would at least get some time at DH there...Baldwin would be in the same situation in Baltimore.
Ideally you would platoon White and Verdugo, but White hits RHP better than LHP. Ultimately, I think that is going to be plan regardless until; Verdugo gets back and that will be the plan in the post-season too.SS help seems obvious but there really isn't anyone that stands out right now.

I just don't see us adding anyone with Profar coming back in August and with JK as an option as well. Maybe if White and Verdugo completely revert to negative WAR players, but I don't see that happening.
Yeah they have a good C also but not a DH like we have in Ozuna. I know it would never happen but a good controllable SS is gonna be hard and expensive to come by.Baldwin would be in the same situation in Baltimore.

That's kind of the route though. Not Henderson per se but that scenario with Baldwin. He's a luxury here that could fill a huge need for us somewhere like SS. The O's have Jackson Holiday at SS that gives them a surplus. They could always flip Baldwin for another piece I guess.I'm not opposed to moving Baldwin for someone like that. Just don't think the O's would be that place.
Gunnar Henderson isn't going anywhere. We'd have an easier time trying to pull Jackson Holliday, which also isn't happening.I know this is gonna sound crazy but the Orioles aren't very good and are a bottom 4 team in baseball right now. Well there you go, even better.Profar comes back in June.
