I’ve never been angry after a win before. I’m angry after this one. Not because we won, but because this team sucks ass. Winning nothing but 1-run and extra inning games isn’t a sustainable form of success.

Yeah - but this team is winning 1 run and extra inning games while they are in suck mode.
When they start regressing to the positive and the bats are ripping again - and they will - the wins will come in bunches.
Said differently, winning while they suck- and even being in position to win each time they lose- is a very very good place to be - because the suck won’t last long.

We're at about 180 games now of the offense being pretty much this. It's been pretty rough since we started like 17-6 last year and then had that awful road trip to Seattle and LA.

That’s if you believe the offense will remember how to hit this year. We’re almost a month and a half into the season and they’re nearly dead last in the NL in runs scored. If that continues, the flukey wins will wash up and we’ll be left with very mediocre team.

The team isn't maxed out yet though. Acuna and Strider should provide significant upgrades when they return.
 
And yet Acuña had also been sucking before he went down last year. Probably the best thing the two of them could bring is the F**** You energy.

It really looked like he was coming out of this funk a few days ago. Hard hit balls, working the count, drawing walks.... But the last 2 games have been inexcusable. He looks completely lost.

He might be yet another case of a middle infielder just breaking down early in their career.
 
Acuna will make the lineup a ton better and move everybody down a spot. The team needs his energy. The pitching will be fine till we can get a good BP arm at the deadline. Profar can't help us in the postseason so he should see little time when he gets back. Let Verdugo and White platoon in LF the rest of the year.

Why do you think this happens to middle infielders? Just getting beat up at short and second I'm guessing?😭
 
Acuna’s return will absolutely make this team better. While I’m not a fan of platoons, we could do worse than a Verdugo/White combo, though you can make a argument for White getting the more time in LF with the way he’s been hitting.

When Ronald returns, this is how I would line them up:

Acuna
White/Verdugo
Riley
Ozuna
Olson
Murphy/Baldwin
Harris
Albies
Allen
