GDT -- 5/20--Sun vs Fish

It's funny watching the clip because Acuna and Albies are running like full speed after Swanson and you see Freeman and Suzuki and the "old" guys jogging out there.

Rarely will I (or many others) defend Chip, and while there's plenty to understandably hate on him about, these big comeback games aren't one of them.

Fans always want to BELIEVE if we could just keep chipping away we can get back in this thing, and having an over-excitable "homer" like him does make it a little more fun to watch games like this. Lots of teams don't have guys like that in the booth these days, and while I could definitely do without him most of the time, I'll admit his craziness is one of the reasons I didn't go looking for something else to watch when it was 6-0 today.

Between the rainout against the Cubs and multiple inning outings by Gohara and Sims, we are pretty well set up for the Phillies.
 
I missed the entire game.. had to take my daughters shopping.. needless to say they got grumpy dad most of the day, no you can't get that.. put that up.. hell no you aren't wearing that.. too expensive..

Swanson's hit.. yes... sure.. why not.. long as I don't ever see you wearing it.. get one for your sister..

Sad I missed today's game. On the other hand, the Braves are undefeated since the last game I watched (Friday)........
 
As I await the midnight replay of this thing, one nagging question remains:

What the hell was Lucas Sims doing back in the big leagues? Can't we agree that there are probably 10 pitchers who are more deserving at this stage?

Cherry-picking on the “picked after”, but those are three massive flops irrespective of external considerations. Sims is by far the best of the three, in terms of outcome, and it looks like AAAA depth / longman material is his ceiling.

Three big points in his favor: he’s on the 40, he has options, and he didn’t start yesterday’s game. But I doubt he’s long for Cobb County, either way.
