GDT 5/23/25: Braves vs Padres - The Return of Acuna

We just have to accept that this roster is just not playoff caliber. I think they will finish around .500 as currently constructed. I would think seriously about selling if there is not a major turnaround by 7/1. Murphy, Olson, Sale, Albies, and Harris all would be available if I were in charge.

Its not Snit that needs to go. It's these damn 4A players like White, Verdugo, Allen, and Fairchild. Then add in this pen. These guys are just bad. There is just too much mediocrity on this roster.
BINGO...

This is what shopping at Ollie's while you're network is more than Wal Mart.

I would trade anyone for the right deal. I wanna blow it up though. Like completely... new GM to new vendors in the stadium. Maybe even tear down the Omni to build a Hyatt

See if you see a pattern with Riley ops...
2021 - .898
2022 - .877
2023 - .861
2024 - .783
2025 - .758

Dude is gonna be .700 ops next season. Get rid of him now

At least you’re not being dramatic………..
I hate this team. Like they make me sick to my stomach. I can't not watch/listen/follow though. This past year of braves' baseball has been the worst I've ever felt about them. I've watched them suck big time and not hate them a fraction of this group. This group is a pathetic.

I have preached since Freeman left that there would be line where allowing the talent to turn over like they have been doing would bite them. We are here. Even the Arcia move makes little sense when you consider it should have been Fairchild or Williams.

Snit will be gone after this year regardless and then AA can bring in his own guy. AA may have been pressure by higher ups to keep Snit so who knows. I'm not sure what AA was doing this past offseason but he didn't improve the team one bit. Most really good bench guys aren't gonna come here bc Snit won't use them but we just have to grit our teeth and let it play out at this point and get somebody new in the offseason. I do think we turn this around with Ronald and Strider back but it'll take a few weeks.

Most good players won't come here for some reason. When is the last time we were an active shopper on the market for a prime free agent? I would argue Maddog.

We don't agree often but I'll agree here. Arcia was at the top of the dugout every play for the team and was a good defensive backup. It should have been Fairchild without question. I think Sale and Ozuna are probably policing the clubhouse to a certain extent but we've let a lot of leadership go the last 4 years in Freeman, Swanson, Fried, Wash, and EY and it's caught up to a certain extent. AA has his work cut out for him fixing the bullpen but I think it can be done. Just have to let it play out.

It's not that it's just not this organizations style to spend on FA. They would rather spend our minor league capital and then give out a slightly lower extension when the signing would have kept our minor leaguers also. If I were AA I would eat half of Profars salary or more and get rid of him and bring in Tucker for whatever it costs in the offseason. If Harris doesn't progress with the bat and Albies bat is declining also and SS is a black hole then we need another legit guy and Tucker fits that bill.

I forgot Profar. I don't know who would bite but if it were me he would not see the field again for the Braves.

Alex is going to have some pressure on him come trade deadline time. Which is now just a bit more than two months away. That sounds like a lot of time, but it’s really not

And if Eli were hitting anywhere close to the way he did throughout his career, that might be a relevant statistic. It's cute that you think 2021 has more predictive value than the most recent two months of regular playing time.

It’s cute that you think a little two week hot streak with an inflated BABIP is more indicative than his entire career. A streak in which, by the way, has been over for a while now.
