GDT 5/23 STRIDER: I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger

Olson literally craps the bed when Freeman is in town. It's sad and funny at the same time.

He knows everyone in stadium, Atlanta, Georgia, and braves country would trade him for FF in a heartbeat, and he tries too hard. "Everyone" includes his wife and kids

There is good news...
Phillies lost
Mets down 5 in 7th
Marlins down 3 in 5th

Maybe they'll all lose tomorrow too

This board was bragging on Olson about 1 month in the season about how he was playing better than FF. Yeah, that was a fluke

If no one is concerned about this team from top to bottom, they are living under a rock…This pitching staff is in much worse shape then in 21’…this offense is unbelievably inconsistent…

No the offense is very consistent...
Innings 1-3: elite team in mlb
Innings 4-6: kc royals
Innings 7-9: Oakland A's

It's the same every night, so it isn't flukish. For whatever reason, the braves are a trash offense from middle to late games

As usual, you got it exactly right. Our offense is not only consistent…..it is reliable even.

Just blew it big time with freeman. Should have just given the man what he wanted. Ugh…

Olson is not a total bust, but Freddie is a unique, generational hitter and there was plenty of evidence to know that before they kissed him off. Despite a historic strikeout rate and poor BA, Olson was OPSing .909 going into last night's game. He's just an all or nothing guy. I thought some of that would be ameliorated by the shift ban, but it hasn't happened. He just doesn't make enough contact. He made decent contact in '21, and I think Alex thought that was his new normal. Instead he's got that big, long, loopy swing that hits majestic bombs or doesn't touch the ball at all.

But all this was very predictable when they went for Olson over Freeman. I knew it, and many of us did. You put guys like that in the seven hole and enjoy when they're hot and live with the dead times. You don't hit him second and clog up your offense.

If you could get Ozzie to give up switch hitting, you'd hit RH Ozzie second and leave him there. And yes, I know his OPS against RH will be lower than that against LH, but if you subtract .250 against RH, he's a still a freakin' Hall of Famer.

THe outright resistance to having Ozzie give up hitting left handed is extremely frustrating. How much worse can it get? He isn't a major league hitter batting lefty at this point.

Freemans contact rate has IMPROVED as he has aged. He truly is a generational type hitter. Only thing that stopped him early on his career were fluke injuries.
