GDT 5/23 STRIDER: I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger

Y’all still whining about Freeman? Lolol. Get over it bc Olson is here for 6 more years after this one and he’ll be 35 years old that’s middle 30’s not late 30’s like somebody else said. FF is a lot more consistent and Olson is streaky he always has been. He’s still a top 5 1b in baseball at 22 million a year.

You can face the congregation now. The choir gets it 😂😂😂

They don’t realize Freeman doesn’t guarantee you anything. I don’t think Acuna was Freeman’s biggest fan anyways so Acuna >>> Freeman

Acuna is where we find out if the Braves learned anything from the debacle. Is Acuna finally the player the Braves are willing to break the bank to keep? If not, NYC is waiting with open arms it's just a matter of what color the pinstripes will be.

If Acuna wants 300-400 million I’ll be fine letting him walk. Look at the Phillies with Turner this offseason, that contract is gonna be terrible! I’d rather lose a player than handcuff the team long term.

Nothing guarantees anything but Freeman >>>> Olson and as such our chances of winning increase.

On a team like the Braves it's not that big of a deal. Freeman wouldn't have helped our pitching **** the bed against the Phillies last year. The only difference is that Freeman would have had a really good chance of winning MVP if he stayed with the Braves imo.

Same thing applies in 2023 sans the mvp consideration (acuna is winning it). Our offense is juiced and our pitching will determine our playoff fate.

Freddie wasn't perfect in this process for sure but I honeslty believe that AA got too cute with 'efficiency' scenarios. Sometimes you have to throw away all you know is 'wrong' for something like this.

AA has been a fantastic GM but there will always be a massive 'What If' associated with his tenure if the Braves don't win another world series with this group. Even if he just wins 1 more then nobody will say a thing. However, if the Braves can't find a way to get one more I don't think he is going to be remembered favorably in Braves history.
Freeman is a Dodger and Olson is a Brave. No changing that now and Freddie did fire his agent and cried like a baby when the Dodgers visited Truist Park last year. He did want to be a Brave, but that ship has sailed

It seems that Acuna is already unhappy with his deal compared to what others got extended to. He will walk as soon as he can

No but would you be happy to get 100 Mil when others are extended to over 300 Mil? I would'nt be. Didn't his dad chirp about that?

He signed his deal before the market exploded and before he was a proven player. It was an undervalued deal, but he was not getting 300 million when he decided to sign.

True, but he will now once he hits the open market. No reason to stay with the Braves, unless they want to pony up.

He changed agents after signing the deal. His dad had never commented on his salary that I know of. The issue is that Tatis reset the market and timetable so that contract was immediately undervalued...even before Tatis. I gotta give him credit for playing his azz off and NOT complaining. He'll be even more filthy rich soon enough.

That is my point. Either way. Doesn't do much good to complain, because the Braves will not trade him. He will walk as soon as that contract is up.

"Let me make a statement but confirm it's only my own speculation," Robyn1967 probably.
,
LOL, I did not make a statement, I just simply said that I would not be happy with the deal I got if I were him. I would really not be happy if I were Albies.

Whoops, I quoted the wrong thing. haha This right here is absolutely a statement of fact: "It seems that Acuna is already unhappy with his deal compared to what others got extended to. He will walk as soon as he can."

probably so.. but I am also not really into paying a guy in his 30's 400 million to finish out his career. He already has 100 million banked.. he has several endorsments deals as well that are probably paying him well. He is not hurting for money.

Tatis's deal will not happen again. I am happy for Tatis getting gold like that, but it was a dumb risky contract that could really turn sour with injury and regression potential.

I agree with you. It was dumb on the Padres to give him that deal. The Braves will not pay that as we have seen with others. However, despite how much money these players make, they always want more, and some stupid team will give it to them. Like the Phillies. He will get paid, whether or not it is smart, that is what will happen unless he totally face plants, and doesn't his contract end when he is like 31?
