I don't give a damn how good allen'a defense is. 600 ops is unplayable.

You have to consider the context of who would be replacing him. Most likely someone who also puts up a sub .700 OPS but with worse defense. Allen atleast puts up a .315 OBP which isnt too bad. He really just lacks power. If he had even below average power he would be close to an average level SS.

There's certainly no in-house options. We need to find a player in a trade. Well, we do if Ozzie and Harris aren't gonna hit. If they hit, Allen is fine

If these guys just hit to conservative projections, the Braves will score as many or more runs than any team in baseball…..

You can’t replace the best defensive SS in the majors with an unknown quantity

Allen is 16th in WAR for SS. Right ahead of Bogarts/Bichette and right behind Gunnar Henderson. And even replacing him with a good bat we still need quality defense from the position. Albies and Harris are hitting the same or worse without the elite defense. No sense in replacing Allen.
