Ehhh… before injuries he was a really good reliever and he looked great in limited Spring action. Was worth a gamble.

And his stuff is great. Legitimately really good. His command is just ass.

Sounds like Holmes is moving to the pen, which is the right decision. But yeesh.

So they’re rolling with a rotation of:
Sale
Strider
Elder
Ritchie
Perez

I hope this is true. Holmes isn't much of an upgrade over Perez on the rotation but Holmes is a much better high leverage reliever. It's hard to carry both Lopez and Perez in the pen. Perez also gives us another lefty in the rotation which helps negate our lack of good lefty reliever after Lee. Kinley and Fuentes can be pushed down to lower leverage situations.

Let’s just please replace Bummer with Dodd when he’s ready… he has been very good as a reliever… small ish sample
