AJSS just pitched 8 innings the previous game, so it's not like the bullpen wasn't rested. Snit just really was trying to get Sale as the pitcher of record just incase we scored and got a lead in bottom of the 7th.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb to have Sale go that far in a game outside of the playoffs. He should have been pulled immediately after that double.

On the bright side, 6.2 shutout innings dropped Sale's ERA from 4.84 to 4.07. Seriously, I don't know what Snit was thinking.

He's the Pedro version of this era. A signifigant amount of innings less than the other HOF starters of his time but as good or better than any of them.

You have to extend Marcel for a couple of years.

Tough position to be in with the best hitter on the team being a DH and the best player on the team needing to move to DH due to 2 reconstructed knees.

I suspect Acuna will be Soler-level bad in the OF, and I'm not sure how long they can let him be a lawn ornament out there because Ozuna is at DH.

We should definitely know more by the end of the season how bad Acuna will be in the field. Even if he is serviceable out there, he will still need to DH some, and have days off some.. (twit will have to be gone for this to happen).. There is a world where you might be able to use Ozuna at 1b against a lefty and allow Acuna to DH.. Olson off the bench could be a great weapon to have if used correctly.. (again, twit will have to be purged for this to happen)

Ozuna at 1b would be horrendous to watch. Would be better sticking Acuna at 1b for a few games rather than trying to play Ozuna there.

Acuna would have to make jump catches and try to land of first on every throw over... no way someone that dramatic could handle first.

There's plenty of time to figure this out. We'll have more data on Acuna's post-surgery defense at the end of the year and a better sense of how we feel about Ozuna as well -- he's 34 years old. He might struggle the rest of the year, end up with mediocre numbers and that'll resolve that issue

this is most certainly an outcome. I would rather have another position person come in as the DH replacement.. that way it could be more of a revolving position.
