GDT 5/6/25: Braves vs Reds - Lineup Adjustments

so if the pitching actually continues to be pretty good.. do the Braves consider a six man rotation when Strider comes back.. I am sure you could sneak Blew-it through .. Just not sure having 1 less man in the pen is good for a manager like Twit.

We tried that last year and they still got hurt. I say we go five and put Elder or John Holmes or AJ or somebody at high leverage pen spot.

Don’t forget now, Ian and Uncle Charlie and Uncle Jessie are all going to need spots and plenty of high leverage opportunities too-

We should definitely know more by the end of the season how bad Acuna will be in the field. Even if he is serviceable out there, he will still need to DH some, and have days off some.. (twit will have to be gone for this to happen).. There is a world where you might be able to use Ozuna at 1b against a lefty and allow Acuna to DH.. Olson off the bench could be a great weapon to have if used correctly.. (again, twit will have to be purged for this to happen)
Last time Acuna came back from a knee rebuild he posted an OPS of .764. That is not a bat that needs to be in the lineup at DH at the expense of the current .900 OPS DH.

When Acuna needs rest he probably needs to just sit.

Well I am also assuming that OPS is what we are going to see this year, while the Braves still have Ozuna... I am hoping.. really, really hoping next year Acuna post a bit better than that. my post you quoted was if they resigned Ozuna for a few years.
