And we are all of a sudden giving up hits to garbage like Espinosa. This year is a rebuilding year, but this is making me pretty mad.

At least thought our "ace" would pitch somewhat better than this.

Well, as Minor so gracefully showed us all, 1 1/2 years of great pitching doesn't mean much in this league.

Julio has the stuff, but this is kind of crazy. He's been struggling way longer than I expected.

The Nats are playing with a lot of confidence against us now, but before we blew that 8-run lead they didn't. We were in their head but not anymore.

It's pretty obvious they have our number right now and for the foreseeable future.

Well, that wouldn't be an issue if we didn't lose 8-run leads. That's incredibly hard to do for professionals.

The way he's pitching today, that number's going to increase--a lot.

It's frustrating because I personally don't understand it. IF he's not hurt or straining himself, what is it? His location is spotty. One inning it's great, the next is absolutely abysmal.

I think a lot of it is mental toughness. Some pitchers have a "bulldog mentality" on the mound in which they concede nothing because they're not going to allow you to beat them. Teheran OTOH lets adversity get to him and he melts. Until he gets a lot tougher, he'll never be much more than a second tier pitcher.
