GDT 5/9/15 ATL @ WAS 4:05 ET

Peterson hit it well but lines out to Harper, not going well for the birthday boy so far. Nothing is for the Braves minus the bloop hit by Callaspo.

Imagine how good that inning would have been if the Nats had not gotten so damn lucky. Peterson's ball could have dropped and Bethancourt not getting out because of fluke play.

Are we having fun yet?

When we were going bad last year I could at least count on usually owning the Nats, now I get to watch a rebuild season and watch the Nats own us (including Uggla being the one to turn the tide, etc).

If that is what makes a fun season I want no more fun...

Cahill a $5 mil a year scrub, like strUggla and Bossman, and bLowe, and Kawakami and others that stole money from us.

Cahill needs to be released. I understand the want to have a sinker baller like him in the BP, but he's awful.

Also, what is up with Simmons and these double plays? I know that wasn't quite a DP, but it's still close.

Lead off hit, 3-2 count ground out (should of been a DP), 3-1 count ground out, and ground out. THAT is dumb baseball.

Simmons usually hits ground balls hard and is a slow runner, that makes for a DP chance if hit right at an infielder. Plus he's batting behind Markakis who is also slow and mostly a singles hitter. That makes for even more DP chances for Simmons to hit into since Markakis won't be stealing second like other leadoff hitters.

Ideally, you'd want Simmons hitting behind a speedy hitter that can steal bases to cut down on the DP chances.
