GDT #50: May 26, 2014 Red Sox (Buchholz) @ Braves (Santana), 1:10pm EST

Fredi refusing to take out pitchers struggling will likely cost us this game. No reason to blow a big 6-1 lead. I also don't know why Gattis was sit after his big game yesterday and two AL games coming soon (meaning he can rest via DH in those games).

Fredi isnt why we lost, per usual you blame him, color me shocked.

Santana had 2 outs, nobody on and gave up a 5-spot, thats on him, period, not Fredi despite your hate towards him.

I love how the Red Sox celebrated like they just won the World Series. These are your defending champs ladies and gentleman.

I'm home and over it now. We are still 3 up in the loss column. Not the end of the world. We will be straight...

Context, something you almost always ignore or are not able to understand. I said in other posts plenty of blame to go around but that was terrible managing we saw today too. Some fans on twitter are saying stuff like this (I guess they hate Fredi more than me LOL):

Taylor Bryan ‏@TBryan_5 23m
Worst managed game in the history of Major League Baseball

Sounds like Taylor Bryan never heard of the Mariners being up 14-2 on the Indians and blowing that lead... which ended up being the deciding game that cost them the regular season team record.

I mean, i wouldnt have pitched to Ortiz, IBB walk him, no reason to pitch to him with Napoli out.

Aside from that, i dont see how he gets much blame.

Fredi gets alot of hate, as does every manager lol.

The concern is that losses like this are the type than cause a bad losing streak. Just like that win in St. Louis is the type that can turn around a bad streak. Hopefully it won't and we'll win tomorrow and take the series in Boston. Time will tell.

Well, what I find funny also is that you argued earlier that you'd pulled Santana before hand (yet refused to say it was an error not to do so). That sound like indirect questioning of the managing but refusal to admit it to me.

I never said pull Erv, he was pitching well and them imploded in the 5th with 2 outs. Was on a good pitch-count.

May be wrong if i did say it.

I'd agree with that especially since the matchup on Tuesday isnt favorable for us (Lester vs Harang)

I think where some of the mismanagement come in was using Thomas to start the 7th instead of Avilan. You had it set up the way you wanted it, tie game in the 7th for Avilan, Carpenter and Kimbrel but for some reason Fredi used Thomas instead of Avilan, who threw a grand total of 1 pitch yesterday. Thomas is not ready for game on the line situations, Avilan was the call there. Outside of that Fredi was fine. This game is on Santana, for walking a .132 hitter with no one and two outs in the 5th because he was pussy footing around instead of going after him aggressively.

BoSox must be the worst team in baseball having lost 10 straight!

OMG, hide the knives if they now win 3 or 4 out of 4 of these games against the Braves.

LOL you don't even know what you said (no cheating going back, lol). Seriously, thanks for the laugh. :)

By the way, just to the make day worse, just saw on twitter for some unknown reason, the Braves didn't have enough of the Kameron Loe experience last year, they signed him again to a minor league contract.

Yea, this was mentioned by someone earlier in this thread. I say again, what is it with Wren and signing this bum? If Loe is called up again this Sept. or earlier...
