GDT 6/10/19: Running it back vs the Pirates

The one reason i wouldnt be against Bumgarner is he has had success vs the Dodgers. All our other starters **** their pants vs them...

it will hurt to have to root for Bumgarner if we do trade for him. he is such a whiner old white man of baseball

much less me worrying how him hating fun would mesh with this team

I don't know what to think of frenchy's theory that bumgarner (personal friends) will take it up a notch once he's traded to a contender. I do find it interesting that when muncy got bumgarner fired up in the 1st that Madison shut the dodgers down. Maybe motivation is a problem for him right now... not sure that's a good thing either

They’re professionals and I have never heard Madbum was a bad teammate. That being said I’m not sure whether he would be the right move.

I’ve been wrong a ton, and Madbum isn’t old Madbum....he is totally better than Gausman because of the experience factor. That’s my opinion of course, but i think you get him out of San Fran and put him in games that matter...and he improves. He is a gamer. He lives for those games while some of our guys would be nervous as crap.

If we can get Madbum by dealing out of strength (pitching)..:then do it. Waters or Pache....heck no.

It's not a bad theory, i think a bullpen arm is more likely though.

He's probably not worth the asking price, but he is better than Gausman, can we agree on this?

"Better" is subjective. Gausman has 4.11 FIP compared to Bumgardner's 3.88

Gausman has been unlucky on balls in play and sequencing. Both are middle of the road pitchers. Bumgardner is a name and not close to the pitcher he was when he was winning those World Series. Right now he's just another guy. The Braves have several of those already.

It's similar to Hamels, in Texas, he wasnt pitching well but he had good numbers away from Texas. I dont think AA would pay the price for him. But i do believe if he gets dealt, he'll be a big addition to that team.

Do agree hell no on Pache/Waters, and yes on pitching going their way depending who they would be.

It's a dumb theory by a dumb baseball mind. Braves have quite a few of those in the booth.

Braves have several guys like Bumgarner? Other than DK when he's up, and Soroka, dont agree.

That delta on his k/bb ratio says otherwise
