GDT 6/10/22: Braves vs Pirates - Bringing The Heat

When Soroka comes back were gonna have a deep rotation. Which is not what we assumed on April 1st.

Fried
Wright
Morton
Anderson
Strider or Soroka.

Then Matzek and Yates return. Bullpen is going to be absolute filth.

What do you mean not what WE expected?

People wanted us to get Greinke. And yes for a while we were trotting out AAAA guys hoping to find magic.

None of this would be possible if Wright wasn't pitching like a big boy finally.

Some options were always going to fail. Some were going to step up and some were going to regress slightly. The bottom line is the braves had multiple OPTIONS with potential where eventually enough would stick.

But again, nobody expected Wright to finally pitch as elite as he's been pitching.

It was always a potential outcome. But I think there was always a strong likelihood Wright was going to develop into a middle rotation starter at least. Process over results early in and Wright always had filthy, and more importantly, voluminous stuff.

Last year that ball is floating in the fountain.

Different game. When the shift is outlawed games will have more buzz to them. Offense benefits from that as pitchers feel they can throw the ball in the zone and not let up a bomb
