GDT 6/14/22: Braves @ Gnats - Win it for Ozzie

Phillies pen is back. They blew an 8-4 lead to the Marlins around the 7th and Knebel didn't get an out int he 9th allowing all 4 batters to reach and to allow Miami to tie it at 9. Soler is up with the bases loaded, 0 outs.

Aguilar just kind of dumped one into RF where Castellanos played horrible defense and got a 2 run double. 11-9 Marlins.

You didn't even mention that during that Aguilar at bat, Realmuto dropped a foul pop up he should have caught. Their defense is truly horrid.

Us needing another OF and there not being one available besides Judge in the offseason and us not having the pieces to trade I could see a Yelich deal. If we got rid of Ozuna that would be amazing.

we need another of?

Saw this over on Fangraphs about Harris and didn't know they have already started working on changing his swing

Harris was a doubles machine during the first five weeks of 2022 and the Braves decided that Harris should leapfrog Drew Waters when Adam Duvall's legs seemed overtaxed in center, which was bleeding into his offense. They altered his swing shortly after Harris was called up, in the middle of their late-May series in Arizona. Harris' hands start and are loading much lower now, which may prevent him from cutting down at the baseball quite so much. It's only been about two weeks since he's made the change, and of the balls in play since roughly 52% of them have been on the ground, which is still not great, but the fact that he's continued to hit big league pitching as a 21-year-old who's making a swing change on the fly, is incredible. It's too early to draw any real statistical conclusions about what kind of impact this swing change will actually have on Harris' power output, it may enable him to hit more homers and/or exacerbate some of issues Harris has already had with the in-zone, letter-high fastballs.

It was mentioned on one of the telecasts recently. Pretty visually noticeable shift, when you see it side-by-side.

This streak has truly been remarkable. The funny thing is the team seems to be getting better every single night. Making adjustments during a winning streak sure is fun. I hope Strider can keep it rolling today. Tomorrow, though I hate being off, will be good for the guys who have to be tired.

Probably a good idea. He is pitching great though...

Hitting on a guy with his top-end potential would be huge. Another cog in extending the competitive window.

what is Muller's stuff like.. is he a Tucker who tries and tricks you into missing the ball or does he have real pitches that can get guys out like Strider?

He throws harder and has a better curveball.

He is also 5 inches bigger so the release point is closer to the plate so the 'perceived velocity' is higher to the hitter.
