True. I think Snit had to get at least 4 innings from Folty tonight. You always have to balance winning one game with having pen options the next day.

1) getting destroyed by a high HR/FB rate (Folty)

2) getting destroyed by a high BABIP and low LOB% (Gausman)

10 day IL with depth in AAA is there for a reason.

Dayton has been great, too bad we mismanaged that inning as that could've meant more.

Is this the manager we want to go into the playoffs with? A guy who puts in the worst BP arm with guys on and game still winnable because it is the 5th inning. I hate this mindset of using the best guys later in the game. This game could have been saved in the 5th.

We have 2 long men. Why have 2 long men if you scared to use them?

He isn't "scared" to use them but if Folty can't get through 5 innings he has no business being in the rotation. I like letting him sit in his dirty diapers for a while.

Managers don't manage every game like it's the 7th game of the WS. Losses are useful too and there's an art to it. I agree that there are plenty of places to 2nd guess a manager but it's not so cut and dried.
