Reminds me a bit of 2013. Nats were supposed to run away with the division but for whatever reason they just weren't good that year. And of course the rest was history.

Well, they won 86 games that year. Hardly terrible, but you can definitely make the case they underperformed. Thing is, the Braves were loaded too that year, and they owned the Nationals. That was ultimately their undoing.
