GDT 6/28/23: Braves @ Twinkies - Powerful Ass Lineup for Allard

What's up. Only following on Gameday. Twins' hitters do lead the major leagues in times struck out. Allard doing anything special or did the Twins break out their toothpick bats?

Allard is throwing junk. Buxton struck out on a pitch over his head.

This season may start to have some shades of Sosa McGwire as it relates to Acuna and Ohtani just shattering records and doing things never done before. The cool thing is we host them end of July. We could be looking at 40-80 for Acuna and Ohtani 50 bombs, with dominant pitching, etc. Pretty nuts

As absurd as Acuna has been, I still think when clicking on power stroke, he should really easily exceed 40 bombs. This month he's got 8 in 100 abs, he had 7 in 114 abs in May, really just April was slower at 4 bombs. If he basically just sustains 8 homers a month for July-September, that's 24 bombs + 19 = 43. It almost feels like he is one streak away of the "8 homers in 15 game type runs" which we've seen him do multiple times, of actually having a 50 homer type opportunity

If this game stays low scoring, I hope Twit realizes he has a super fresh pen and that Allard is not Kershaw and doesn't need to see any lineup 3 times over.

I think both of Allard's starts in Gwinnett were 3 innings, so I wouldn't be surprised if his day is done. Twins' futility may allow him to go 5.

Loving how the casual fan is freaking out right now that Snit didn't allow him to get one more out for a possible "W". Just another reason it's good to have Chip out of the booth.
