GDT 6/28: Harris Not In The Lineup

I tuned out four days ago, and it's been great for my mental. I love this team so much, but I just can't deal with whatever the hell is happening. In the end, I think it's a mix of regression, underperformance, and apathy. I'll probably just lurk with some days where I chime in here and there until the boys figure it out or the season is over.

Maybe AA can convince somebody to leave Trout and Wash behind when the Angels roll out town Thursday….
Washington is on medical leave for the rest of the season. Who knows? He might be living in Atlanta.

I've been more skeptical of the team than most, but it's still a good-to-very good team when the pieces fall together and everyone is healthy. I think a lot of folks are overreacting a bit. As zito posted (either on this thread or a different one), the wild card is still in reach. Maybe 90 wins isn't in the cards because they would have to win 2/3 the rest of the way (possible but unlikely). But getting to 85 gets you right around 60% win rate and I think that's doable.

Anthopoulos won't sell and I don't know if he really has the resources to buy unless he wants to unload a couple of our top 10 prospects. I highly doubt Ozuna is going anywhere unless he's packaged with a couple of prospects for another bat. In retrospect, I think that's where Anthopoulos was going in the Devers' negotiations. Ozuna does have an expiring contract, so that's a plus in moving him, but there's not a plug-and-play bat in the upper reaches of the system now that could slide right into that role.
