I've blasted AA for this for months. You don't do experimental stuff on a prized asset. With that said, that stat doesn't say much unless you give pre-ERA
Except that a 2nd TJS is basically a guaranteed death knell.I've blasted AA for this for months. You don't do experimental stuff on a prized asset. With that said, that stat doesn't say much unless you give pre-ERA
Yeah, give me the known procedure anyway...Except that a 2nd TJS is basically a guaranteed death knell.
Is that article supposed to support your argument?Yeah, give me the known procedure anyway...
I really hope it's him trying to create a story, and the pitchers sucked before and after. And could be a super small sample if the procedure is new, and this stat could look different in Septembertalking about lazy reporting... so what was the ERA of those pitchers before the procedure. are we saying they improved or got worse. I hate people who are lazy at their jobs.
While I seriously doubt Acuna is capable of that level of thinking, this is the only type of scenario where getting rid of Snit now makes sense.Serious question. Say you are acuna or ozuna, heck even Olson and you are playing every night and you continue to see the manager make obvious decisions that clearly are wrong and that contribute to the team getting in a bigger hole. As a human do you just sort of give up and just stop trying so hard. Not completely give up but sort of just half ass it. It has to be frustrating.
well it is 700 innings pitched combined after the procedure.. but again, we don't know the ages of the pitchers.. the effectiveness of the pitchers before, or if one guy is really skewing the results.I really hope it's him trying to create a story, and the pitchers sucked before and after. And could be a super small sample if the procedure is new, and this stat could look different in September
Lol. Except that there have been way more 2nd TJS recipients than of the brace procedure. That outcome is extremely low, and only Eovaldi and deGromm were premiere pitchers both before and after (although deGromm remains to be seen). Otherwise it wouldn’t be considered an “experimental” procedure.Eovaldi, Taillion, Hudson, paddock (back to career era and right under velocity), and degrom. Thats 5 guys that back or one the road to be back. Now name some with the other procedure
While he doesn't have much data to go off post-procedure, Drew Rassmussen had the brace procedure done in 2023. In the 91 innings since his return, he has a 2.36 ERA, including a 2.14 ERA in 12 starts this season.
It would seem the Rays were smart by letting Rassumussen work his way back in the pen over the final 2 months last year. We probably should have done that with Strider. I realize our rotation is pretty gross at the moment, but this is the mess AA created. Don't double down on your mistake. Let Strider be used as an opener or a long reliever for now and go out get a reliable starter and see if you can salvage the season.
there is a difference in getting a second TJS at 26 versus a second at 33... I have a feeling the number of success stories from 2 TJS will continue to rise as the procedure seems to be a more and more common occurrence at younger and younger ages..Lol. Except that there have been way more 2nd TJS recipients than of the brace procedure. That outcome is extremely low, and only Eovaldi and deGromm were premiere pitchers both before and after (although deGromm remains to be seen). Otherwise it wouldn’t be considered an “experimental” procedure.
