GDT: 7/02/14 - Braves vs. Mets

And on La Stella's defense; I'm not sure how it looked in the Minors, but he's look really good in the major league.

Almost forgot, Braves now 13-0 with BJ at leadoff.

And I might let Laird go if we get someone back like Trout. I mean we can always re-sign Gerald in the offseason to a lucrative backup catcher contract.

Burying two division rivals in back-to-back series is pretty sweet. I believe the damage we did in these two series will "leave a mark" on both of those clubs.

BTW it's nice playing the Mets minus David Wright in the middle of their lineup as he changes the entire complexion of their offense.

Interesting comment by Mets manager Terry Collins in his post game interview saying Teheran's move to first is "borderline improper." Of course, he's basically whining that he thinks it's a balk that's not being called. IMO Teheran has the best move to first of any pitcher the Braves have had in a while.

I've seen others say this too, meh.

If Gattis' back is going to be bothering him the rest of the year I see no way they throw him in left field. Would destroy his already bum knees and hurt his back more.

It does however make him more attractive to an AL team if a trade were speculated to DH full-time. I don't want to get rid of the bear, but like Minor if the incoming player is going to be a huge impact guy then I would strongly consider it especially if CB continues to play well.

I think we're forgetting just how hard it is to find a .900 OPS catcher. He's a unicorn.

I don't care if Bethancourt is Pudge behind the plate. Gattis is pretty good defensively and he's a perennial all star caliber hitter.

Isn't Bethancourt hitting .200? SSS, but he's a catch-and-throw guy until proven otherwise.
