GDT 7/14/19: A permanent lineup change?

This sweep is also big because we have Fried and Wilson in the next two. Fried was bad against Miami last game in a loss and Wilson gave up 9 earned runs his last start in the minors. Plus the starters vs the Nats in that O's series should equal an easy Nats sweep.

I would rather face the winner of the Central than the Nats in Round 1. Keep on winning LAD.

That’s just stupid. First you’re assuming the Gnats won a 1 game playoff which is no certainty. Then you’re failing to take into account that they would only be able to pitch Scherzer once against us. Combine that with the fact we have a superior lineup bench and bullpen and I like our chances.

In a hypothetical 5 game series vs Washington, they'd probably throw Corbin/Stras/Scherzer/Sanchez/Corbin or Stras.

Thats some tough pitching even if you see Max one time.

This isn’t a Braves vs Nats thing. It’s Nats vs Cubs. I wouldn’t say it’s stupid to prefer going against Lester, Hamels, and Darvish than Scherzer, Stras, and Corbin in a 5 game series.

I like our chances against anybody in the playoffs. We have a good team and because baseball is random.

Any playoff series we are in automatically assume we're at a 30% disadvantage.

Quite sure those numbers are right - can you guys tell us what they were on this date in 1991 and 1992?

You do realize that the existence of insurmountable odds is what makes those early 90’s teams unforgettable — not that the odds were meaningless.
