GDT 7/24/22: Braves vs Angels - Heredia gets a start

Gotta give it to snit to realize that Acuna was the perfect old school lead off. Good OBP, speed, and no power

You ever come across that dude one time that you shouldn’t have fckd with? Detmers is that dude for the Braves.

DOB is on Twitter defending Ian for his 3 prior July starts (2 against Washington of all teams where he couldn't even reach 6 innings in either). Can we get a better beat writer?

The problem with Ian is when he’s not on the game normally is over because of one inning. Like today…they can’t keep running him out there for a good chance at an L every 5th day.

You have to think this outing today will put enough in the mind of AA to look at the starting rotation before the August 2 trade deadline. Will he be aggressive enough to get Castillo from Cincinnati.

Acquiring Castillo would help us leave this division in the dust…we don’t have the equity to obtain him unfortunately

There’s no reason to think Muller isn’t better than Ian right now. Ian wouldn’t put up those numbers in AAA right now with his diminished stuff.

If Ian being replaced by muller is even being considered, this would be a good time. Muller would get his first start back vs Arizona at home next weekend

I wonder if Anderson would do better in the pen. Maybe his two pitch mix would work better out of the pen.

I know This game is over but fckn Acuna has to know better. He’s a veteran and that is was the stupidest fckn play of the game. That’s a mistake that you expect Harris not a veteran like Acuna.

Having the ability to get him is the question, you’re right. The bad thing is that there is not much in the way of quality starting pitchers available it appears to me. I really don’t want Quintana from the Pirates. One of the few possibilities that pops into my mind maybe is Nathan Evoaldi if Boston decides to sell
